Last year Broome’s beloved Italian restaurant Café Carlotta’s had a little backslide from being a great restaurant to the mediocre under new ownership. It was a shame. Most people I know in Broome had loved Carlotta’s for years. Tourists who discovered the little hideaway, returned again and again. We all gave the new owner a chance to find his step but sadly it seemed to get worse so most of us gave up on our favourite spot.
Fast forward to 2011 and Carlotta’s again has new ownership, and a new name! Café d’Amore has announced on their Facebook group page, http://on.fb.me/cafedamore, that the former Maître ’d’, Judith Suarez Hallyburton, has purchased the Café!

We are very excited about opening, but still lots of work to do…. Our aim is ‘to bring back the love….’ to the cafe formerly known as Carlottas (sic).
